Hello. I was wondering if anyone with IPH has used Rutin and Vitamin C as part of their regime? There are some dr.'s wanting to try this treatment with my 6 year old son. Any success or failures? Thanks!

Dear Stacey,
I haven't heard of this previously. I googled and I see the rudin is an anti-oxidant. There was an article a number of years ago : Case 3-2007: A Boy with Respiratory Insufficiency
N Engl J Med 2007; 356:2329-2330 May 31, 2007 regarding using acetylcysteine as an anitoxidant. I haven't been able to find a previous reported case of using rubin in IPH.
The vitamin C, new one on me!

Dear All,
I was talking to a doctor with a special interest in rare lung diseases and IPH. There a hope of starting an interstitial lung disease register in the US. It would be wonderful if there could be an international register. For research and support for patients and families with IPH, the more people who have the disease that are also on the register the better.

Thanks! Hola, yo sigo tomando acetilcisteina y me va muy bien. La vitamina C, me imagino que será para subir las defensas y no caer en infecciones. Yo la tomé durante un tiempo junto con la vitamina A. La dejé de tomar por hipervitaminosis. Pero durante ese tiempo no tuve que tomar corticoides. Espero que sea de ayuda. Besos Hello, I continue taking acetilcisteina and it me is OK. The vitamin C, I imagine that it will be to raise the defenses and not to fall down in infections. I took it during a time together with the vitamin To. I stopped her taking for hypervitaminosis. But during this time I did not have to take corticoides. I hope that it is of help. Kisses |
