Hello. My son, age 6, has IPH and was successful on immunoglobulin for a year and a half. Recently, his body starting rejecting the immunoglobulin. He is also on Cellcept. I was wondering if people could share their medicines and what seems to have worked for them. We are having a hard time getting the right combination. It seems he went into a remission for a year, but is having a hard time now. Thanks!

Dear Stacey,
Hydroxychloroquine, azathioprine, steroids, cyclophosphamide (oral / intravenous) and 6 mercaptopurine have all been used in hemosiderosis. More recently the possible benefits of acetylcysteine was publicised.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Miriam

Hi Stacey, using ImmunoGlobulin from relatives could lessen the rejection. Check with your doctors on this possibility, each state has their own rules on family donating for specific recipients.
